I'm fed up with tripping over my camera tripod or working awkwardly in my howto videos. Let's do something about it.
Here's the parts list:
The D Ring screw came from BangGood here: https://www.banggood.com/14-Inch-Long...
The camera mount came from TomTop here: https://www.tomtop.com/tripod-heads-3...
Or a similar product is available here at BangGood: https://www.banggood.com/Tripod-Ball-...
The threaded insert came from eBay - so any link I put here might expire - here's a search link : https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_od...
(if the sesrch link doesn't work try searching on eBay, or Google shopping, for combinations of these terms:
1/4 UNC
Threaded
Insert
flange nut
Total cost for me not including the wood, which was reclaimed) was less than £5. You could use a piece of pine instead of the hardwood I chose, but you might need to adapt the design so it didn't taper to so thin a profile.
(the sofa teardown video - where the timber came from - is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXg24... )
